Course Overview: The Pre-Algebra Summer Intensive is designed for motivated students looking to master the foundational language of mathematics. This course bridges the gap between elementary arithmetic and the abstract world of Algebra. Students will dive deep into integers, linear equations, ratios, and geometric relationships, developing the problem-solving “grit” required for high-level mathematics.

Dual-Path Opportunities: We recognize that every student’s mathematical journey is unique. This course offers two distinct pathways:

• The Accelerated Track: For students aiming to enter our accelerated math curriculum, this course provides a rigorous fast-track. Students who demonstrate mastery of the curriculum will earn 1 unit of credit, allowing them to advance directly into Algebra 1 in the fall.
• The Foundational Track: For students looking to build confidence before the new school year, this course serves as a comprehensive “head start.” It ensures that students enter their fall Pre-Algebra class with a strong competitive edge and a solid understanding of core concepts.

• Mastery of the Order of Operations and Number Theory.
• Fluency in solving multi-step equations and inequalities.
• Introduction to graphing linear functions and coordinate geometry.
