Our goal is for students to begin speaking Mandarin with confidence. Campers will participate in two targeted language sessions per day, acquiring basic vocabulary, practicing conversation, and developing a feeling for the Mandarin language through poetry and song. Each day of the week will also feature a special cultural class including Chinese macrame knotting, paper crafts, Chinese yo-yo, calligraphy, and more. In the afternoon, campers put their language skills and creativity to the test in a Chinese Drama class, culminating in an official performance at the end of the three-week session.
Level I – students with little to no experience with Chinese.
Level II – students who have some experience with Mandarin or another dialect, but are not yet fluent in spoken Mandarin.
