The HSArts Advanced Ballet Intensive is where serious dancers come to refine their technique, improve their flexibility and skills, and expand their repertoire in a fun, focused environment. Join Mr. Dongsheng Wei and other internationally-acclaimed dance teachers to take your skills to the next level.
Mr. Dongsheng Wei
Mr. Dongsheng Wei served as principal dancer with Atlanta Ballet for 14 years before starting his 25-year teaching career training students who have performed on America’s Got Talent and have won awards in both national and international competitions.
Mr. Min-Hai Wu
Mr. Min-Hai Wu began his ballet training at the Shanghai Ballet School at the age of nine. He went on to join the Shanghai Ballet Company as a principal dancer, where he won the Gold Medal in the Second National Ballet Competition in China. Mr. Wu later became the first Chinese dancer to join the San Francisco Ballet, and within two years was promoted to soloist, performing principal roles in Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. For more than three decades, he has shared his expertise as a devoted teacher of classical ballet.
This summer’s intensive incorporates training in the Vaganova method to develop an understanding of ballet technique and technical excellence. Students will learn repertoire to showcase in a demonstration on the final day of the intensive. The daily schedule is from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and will include:
- Ballet Technique/Pointe
- Classical Ballet Variation
- Character Dance / Contemporary
- Chinese Ethnic and Folk Dance
- Flexibility and Conditioning / Dance Kinesiology

**0.5 high school course credit offered to qualifying full-day summer camp participants.
